In the panorama of the countless coffee-related competitions, one entirely dedicated to grinding was missing, thus the Master Coffee Grinder Championship was born.

The Master Coffee Grinder Championship it will be divided into six stages on the national territory, the first two will be held on6 Marchat the Carrara Exhibition Complex as part ofTirrenoct and the nextthe 10 May in Albignasego (PD) AtDiemme Academy. Other dates are being defined in Turin, Trieste, Rome is another location along the Peninsula.

The idea of ​​this competition starts from Fabio Verona, SCA teacher and trainer of Costadoro roasting and da Grindie, leading company in the design and construction of on-demand coffee grinders. Each heat has a maximum duration of 15 minutes and consists of the competing barista's ability to achieve the aromatic profile described by the roaster who will supply the blend through the correct grinding. Any changes made to achieve this goal must be motivated by the competitor to the jury. Once you get the perfect grind, the exact parameters that allowed the final result to be obtained must be reported by means of a special form. The coffee must be extracted in four doses, three for the judges and one for the TDS measurement. The jury will consist of two sensory judges, a technical judge and a chief judge.

To do all this, the competitor will have a kilo of coffee available, the coffee grinder Grindie Solo, the Sanremo You bar machine (with pressure profiles disabled) and all the accessories needed for preparation. The best three participants of each competition will be selected to participate in the next steps of the competition.
